David Armstrong

Partner at PwC

David is a Partner in PwC and leads the International Trade and Development team in PwC UK. He has an MPhil and a PhD in economics from Oxford and Warwick Universities, and has published widely on economics and policy issues in the UK and beyond. David’s main focus is currently on UK public sector clients including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and the Department for International Trade (DIT). This includes delivering programmes aimed at facilitating trade and investment between the UK and other major trading nations including India and China. He has also recently supported DIT on a range of initiatives, including the post-Covid recovery strategies for exports and investment. David is also responsible for PwC’s work with FCDO on the Girls’ Education Challenge, the world’s largest challenge fund focused on promoting better education and skills outcomes in developing countries. David regularly publishes on the topic of trade and investment and is excited by the growth prospects for digital trade. David designs and hosts PwC’s annual International Development Conference, the most recent of which – The Big Reset: a new ambition for development - explored topics related to trade, skills and climate.
